Our team of expert modelers and engineers is led by Mahmoud Raoufi, a Professional Engineer (PE) in the field of Transportation and a Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).

With 17 years of extensive experience in traffic modeling, Mahmoud specializes in developing large-scale simulation and regional models, as well as dynamic traffic assignment (DTA) and dynamic matrix estimation.

Mahmoud holds two MSc degrees in Transportation, with a focus on driving behavior models and calibrating traffic simulation software in his first master's, and primarily on statistics, discrete choice modeling, data analysis, and artificial intelligence in his second. His academic journey began with a BSc in Civil Engineering.

This extensive experience has been applied to significant projects where he led the traffic modeling team, including the MoPac South Express Lanes and US183 North Express Lanes for CTRMA, the San Antonio Advanced Rapid Transit study for VIA, the San Antonio International Airport System Strategic Development Plan, numerous major interchange projects for TxDOT, and the Tesla Giga Factory Texas Traffic Impact Analysis (TIA). Mahmoud's contributions also encompass transit demand modeling for the Rethinking I-94 project for MNDOT, and demand modeling for the Mesa Grande Drive extension in Las Cruces.
